First off, let me say thank you for visiting the site! I want to use this page to give you a background of how I got involved in SEO and why I decided to compile this course.
For me, it all started a couple of years ago, when I found myself funnelling huge amounts of money into Google Adwords and similar products in order to get targeted traffic to one of my websites (an entertainment company). Although these products were very effective and well targeted, they were costing me a lot of money and I still felt that there had to be another way to get traffic.
And so I began fiddling about with search engine optimization (aka SEO) and soon came across what seemed like almost every “wonder product” on the internet. There were sites and software that promised huge “overnight” results. I eagerly handed over my money to these providers, only to find that all these products and or services were pretty much useless in isolation. Although most of them had their place (and some were just plain junk), a newbie required something of “big picture” education before they could really benefit from the products.
And so I went along over the years and finally developed what I would today refer to as a “big picture” knowledge of SEO. I knew that so many people could benefit from this sort of knowledge and so I couldn’t help but develop a course about this so that newcomers could get an unbiased, well-rounded understanding of the topic of SEO. And so the SEO basics course was born!
Although I do mention certain products and services in the course which cost money, they are not essential and SEO can be done with absolutely no cost other than your time and effort. I recommend that you complete the course and then make an educated decision as to what suits you best.
Should you decide that SEO is something that you’d rather outsource, I can recommend the guys at SubmitEdge - they have a flexible service to suit pretty much any site.
